Reading Goals – April 2017

IMG_20170401_132105_908Is it even worth posting this since we’re already a third of the way through the month? Whatever, it’s already written, and I don’t have anything else to post today, so it’ll have to do!

Normally I start off with a recap of how many books I read in the month prior and then ramble on a bit until I announce the new number of the month, but this month I don’t really feel like comparing the two. I feel like that was part of the reason I fell into a reading slump last month. I felt like I needed to best my number from the month before, and it made reading more of a chore than a fun escape.

So, this month I’m just going to list the books I hope to read, and it’ll be a bit shorter than normal, but I may or may not add to it depending on how the month goes. I’ll be sure to keep you updated!

Book #1: The Devil Colony by James Rollins (Sigma Force series #7)

Book #2: Duels & Deception by Cindy Anstey (ARC – publication date 4/11/17)

Book #3: All American Boys byJason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely

Book #4: Station Eleven by St. John Mandel

Book #5: The Circus by Olivia Levez (ARC – publication date 5/4/17)

Book #6: Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

Book #7: The Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller

Book #8: Heartborn by Terry Maggert

Book #9: Fade Away by Harlan Coben

Question of the week: Have you read (or do you want to read) any of the books on this list?

Reading Goals – March 2017

I know we’re already a week into March, but it was a pretty hectic week, so I’m just now getting this post up. Last month I managed to reach my goal of 8 books and tack on an extra five books (for a total of 13 books)! I’m still not sure how I managed to read all of them! You can check out the full list of books I read in February in my monthly wrap-up post.

This month, I don’t expect to read quite as many books, especially since a week has already passed and I’ve only finished two books (both of which I started in February). Still, I’m going to set my goal at 10 books, but I won’t be upset if I don’t hit my target because I am currently rereading The Lord of the Rings, and it is not a story to be read quickly!

So, without further ado, here are the books I hope to read this month!

Book #1: Heartless by Marissa Meyer

Book #2: The Luster of Lost Things by Sophie Chen Keller (ARC)

Book #3: The Doomsday Key by James Rollins (Sigma Force series #6)

Book #4: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

Book #5: Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz

Book #6: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien

Book #7: Frostblood by Elly Blake

Book #8: The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien

Book #9: Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill

Book #10: Crossing Ebenezer Creek by Tonya Bolden (ARC)

Question of the week: Have you read (or do you want to read) any of the books on this list?

Reading Goals – February 2017

I read 11 books in January, which might be my record as an adult! The month of February is a bit busier for me (and it’s a shorter month!), so my goal for this month is to read eight books, hopefully in the order listed below!

Book #1 – The Judas Strain by James Rollins (the 4th book in the Sigma Force series)

Book #2 – Crooked Kingdom by  Leigh Bardugo (sequel to Six of Crows)

Book #3 – Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst

Book #4 – Drop Shot by Harlan Coben (the 2nd book in the Myron Bolitar series)

Book #5 – Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Book #6 – Extracted by RR Haywood (my February Kindle First selection)

Book #7 – The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti

Book #8 – The Sun is Also A Star by Nicole Yoon

Question of the Week: Do you set reading goals (yearly, monthly, weekly, etc.)? If so, what is your current goal?
